Ancient Egyptians Really Know How To Party

It was a cool autumn evening when a group of 5000 year old mummies took over the stage at the historic Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri on November 12, 2023. Eight-piece funk rock group Here Come The Mummies returned to Kansas City and they sure brought the party with them.

The mummies made their way to the stage by parading through the audience with drums, saxophones, a keytar, and even a loaded bubble gun. The audience cheered as they took the stage. Without skipping a beat the group went right into playing. These guys danced, jumped, and partied all over the stage.

As a whole, the group took turns sharing the spotlight, no one single mummy stayed the center of attention. By rotating and moving about the stage several different mummies got the chance to show of their individual prowess on their respective instruments. The band as a whole meshed well with eachother too. From synchronized dance moves to just general camaraderie between each other, these mummies behaved like one big family on stage.

This was one of the most fun, and quite unique shows I’ve ever attended. If you get a chance to see these mummified musicians, do not pass them up!
