Bowling For Soup Takes Over The Truman 2024

Bowling For Soup took the stage at The Truman in Kansas City, Missouri on July 18, 2024 for a SOLD OUT AF show to celebrate 20 years of their hit album A Hangover You Don’t Deserve.

Bowling For Soup is comprised of lead vocalist Jaret Reddick, bass guitarist Rob Felicetti, drummer Gary Wiseman, and guitarist Chris Burney. Early on in the set Reddick confessed that the band has some close ties to Kansas City, but hadn’t sold out a show until this night.

One noticeable absence from the stage was guitarist Chris Burney, though there was a manequin on stage wearing a Bowling For Soup jersey with Burney’s name on it. The band had announced earlier on their social media platforms that Burney would be out as he recovers from an injury.

After a handful of songs, Rick Astley’s hit song “Never Gonna Give You Up” erupted over the venue speakers, rickrolling the entire audience. Not going to lie, this was absolutely hilarious. The audience enjoyed this moment as the band members moved around the stage and posed so the audience could get some fun photos on their phones.

Still to this day I have a few Bowling For Soup songs in several of my Spotify playlists and getting the opportunity to see (and photograph) this band was an absolute dream come true. The band had phenomenal energy on stage, especially given their ages (Reddick made a point to tell the crowd he is 52 years old), and playing through over 20 songs was insanely impressive.

This is one tour you can’t miss.
