Daughtry stopped in Kansas City, Missouri to perform at the historic Uptown Theater on May 30, 2018.

Daughtry, led by front-man Chris Daughtry, perhaps known best from his time on the widely popular American Idol television series, kicked of the show in KC with a hauntingly beautiful new song “Just Found Heaven,” a brand new song set to appear on their upcoming new album later this year. The band played through their popular ballad “Feels Like Tonight” next and then went into a powerful performance of their hit song “Battleships.”
Between every couple of songs, Chris would address the audience and there would always be one extremely enthusiastic guy in the very back yelling something back at the stage. Daughtry would look in his general direction and say he didn’t really understand what was said, but then he would agree with him, which was met with a roar of laughter and cheers from the audience. Up next the band got the crowd riled up with “Crawling Back To You” and “Life After You” before playing their latest single “Backbone” from their upcoming album.

Daughtry also played a couple of covers such as “With or Without You” by U2 and “Purple Rain” by Prince. While I was never really a big U2 fan until last summer when I got the opportunity to see and photograph them at Arrowhead Stadium, Daughtry’s cover of “With or Without You” was simply amazing. The crowd was singing along and swaying to the music the whole time.
Currently Daughtry is touring out of the country for a few shows before returning to the USA. I highly recommend attending one of their shows. They are filled with great music and good energy.
