ZZ Ward returned to Kansas City on July 16, 2018 to perform at The Truman venue, this time on her own headlining tour. The last time she was in KC, she was on tour with Icelandic rock group Kaleo.
ZZ Ward is currently touring to promote her 2017 album “The Storm.”
“The Storm” is filled with songs that do play heavily into the pop genre but are still full of blues characteristics.

ZZ opened her set with “Let it Burn.” Following that, the all too familiar WooHoos echoed throughout the venue and the audience started cheering loudly as ZZ began singing her hit song “Ghost.” As ZZ made her way throughout her set, she had the audience dancing, clapping, and swaying along to the music all evening. The crowd wasn’t sold out by any means, but there were several hundred in attendance and the show seemed very intimate for the guests.
ZZ’s performance at The Truman was nothing short of a beautiful night of bluesy pop-rock. It was great. Fans enjoyed the her impressive vocal talents all night long and the blues influences in her tunes added a deeper emotion to her music.
If ZZ Ward’s tour stops by your town, I highly recommend checking her out!
