Come one! Come all! To see the greatest show!… on a Thursday evening in Kansas City. Towering at an impressive 6’8”, Mike Geier (aka Puddles) brought everything but a pity party to The Folly. You’ve seen him on America’s Got Talent and YouTube, but nothing can prepare you for what this talented entertainer brings to a live stage.
Without an ounce of dialogue, Puddles delighted his audience with laughter and cheers and his vocal talent was truly a wonderful experience for all. His comedic style, lack of care for his guests’ personal space, strange obsession with Kevin Costner, and his constant struggle with his mortal enemy, the barstool on stage, all brought the audience constant laughter. He has an original format of singing popular songs while showing clips of videos from the internet that cleverly sync up with the songs. He won the crowd over with a clip of an adorable baby welling up as he serenaded us with a beautiful rendition of “Danny Boy” and made everyone burst into hysterical laughter when he showed clips of malfunctioning robots while singing Coldplay’s “Fix You.”
The highlight of the night for me was when Puddles belted out Sia’s “Chandelier” while recording himself on audience members’ phones and then handing the phones back to random people. This made for hilarious audience participation while they had to track down who now had their phones. Make sure to catch his show next time he swings by Kansas City. This was by far one of my favorite performances that I’ve seen in 2018 and Puddles proves that he is the epitome of entertainment.
